Midwest Skate Club Newsletter January 2010
Happy New Year to everyone! Hopefully you are finding some creative ways to stay warm and fit this winter. Club activities are slowing down for the winter, but Spring and the inline race season are right around the corner.
Here are the latest club updates:
Club Status
We are officially registered with the state as an incorporated club. Yea us!
By-laws and Membership Form
The 2010 MSC Membership form is available here
Please complete your membership form and mail it in as soon as possible, or, feel free to register online here. The MSC ByLaws are availble on the club messageboard here.
Uniforms and Other Clothing orders for 2010
We're working on getting the new skinsuits and jackets ready. They are basically the
same design, but we are going with Louis Garneau this year so there are a few minor
design changes. We decided to go this route since we have a local rep we can deal with,
the quality is much better, and they also have a wider selection of materials, including ice
speedskating suits. Look for more info on ordering soon.
Metrodome Teams for the Team Time Trial
If you are interested in skating with a team for the Team Time Trial, please email Mike
Anderson (ma@atc.cx) or Martha Flynn (martha.flynn@gmail.com). We’ll also be
posting something on the bulletin board about this. If the numbers are anything like last
year, we might be able to pull together 4 or 5 teams. Give us your average marathon time
if you have it and how much experience you have skating in pacelines.
Metrodome Training
Come on out to the Metrodome for training. If you don’t know that many club members,
wear your Midwest Skate Club t-shirt and I’m sure people will introduce themselves.
Danny Frederick has been kind enough to post workouts on the wall outside of the men’s
bathroom (upper level) on nights he’s skating. Give them a try, or do what I do and
‘modify’ them to suit your needs.
Websites
Be sure to start checking www.midwestskateclub.com , especially the MSC message
board for updates and info on training. I expect activity to increase as the season
approaches. If you need assistance with the message board, email
martha.flynn99@gmail.com
Also visit www.inlineskatempls.com for general inline skating info.
Happy Skating everyone. Stay warm this winter and we’ll see you on the trails soon enough!
